Freediving Education with AESI

Discover Freediving
The purpose of that mini course is to introduce to new people the magic of the sea. The course may be applied into a pool or in the sea. By using basic equipment (mask, snorkel, fins) candidates enjoy the view from the surface we won’t stop there.
We will also learn the basic rules of free diving so as to dive safely. While you dive, you will feel becoming one with the underwater world since nothing will disturb your serenity. You do not have to be an athlete in order to enjoy freediving. During the whole program you will be under the supervision of an AESI instructor.

Level I – Introduction to Freediving
Apnea Education System International Level I is an introductory course to freediving. It is intended for those who have no previous diving experience or people who have basic skills and it is designed to offer simple and quick learning to the new freediver or to develop current skills of the freediver.
In AESI level I you will learn how to dive in safety. At the end of the course, you will be familiar with all the basic know-how and you will have developed the skills of 1 min static apnea, 25m dynamic apnea and 13m diving with constant weights. Minimum course duration is 4 days. To participate in this course, you should be at least 18 years old or fill a parent certificate and have a good health certificate.

Level II – Intermediate Freediving
Apnea Education System Level II is intended for freedivers who either have an Apnea Education System level I certification or a qualifying certification from another training organization or have a Level I freediving experience.
In this course you will build upon both your theoretical knowledge and your practical techniques. At the end of the course, you will have safely developed the skills of 2min static apnea, 50m dynamic apnea and 20m diving with constant weights. Minimum course duration is 6 days. To participate in this course, you should be at least 18 years old, know how to swim and have a good health certificate. Level I certification required.

Level III – Advanced Freediving
Apnea Education System Level III is the highest training level in freediving aimed at helping participants develop a perfect technique, achieve maximum performance so as to become exceptional divers and continue to become a freediving Instructor. An Apnea Education System level II certification or a qualifying certification from another training organization or a Level II freediving experience is required.
After graduating from AESI Level III you will have safely developed the skills of 30m freediving with constant weights, more than 60m dynamic apnea and greater than 2min & 30sec static apnea. Graduates will be able to participate in Apnea Education System level Ι, ΙΙ, ΙΙΙ courses as Instructor Assistants. Minimum course duration 7-8 days. To participate in this course, you should be at least 18 years old, know how to swim and have a good health certificate. Level II certification required.

Instructor Certification Course
Apnea Education System International Instructor course is dedicated to certified Level III freedivers which want to pass to next level. A highly demanding course around knowledge and safety due to the nature of the sport of freediving. An Apnea Education System level II certification or a qualifying certification from another training organization or a Level II freediving experience is required. Minimum course duration is 10 days.
Apnea Education System International Instructor is the freediver who has been certified to have the ability to:
- teach 1,2 & 3 levels of AESI freediving.
- organize a group of up to 4 freedivers in a pool.
- organize a group of up to 4 freedivers in the sea.
- Ensure the safety of a group of freedivers in a pool & sea.
